The holidays came early for me thanks to the Detox Market! They sent me some amazing cruelty-free beauty goodies to try out. The Detox Market is a curated collection of all-natural, animal-friendly, and ethically-sourced products. I actually planned to just do an Instagram post about them but I ended up having so much to say that I decided to write up a blog post instead!
Mun – Akwi Purifying Cleanser – $60
I am completely in LOVE with this cleanser! I was wary the first time I used it. You are instructed to apply it to dry skin and then rinse afterwards. It felt very greasy when I first applied it, which immediately turned me off since I have oily skin. However, a minute or so after drying off my face, I realized that my skin was no longer slick feeling. In fact, it felt very balanced and my pores looked empty and refined! I was shocked! Since then, I have perfected how I like to use this cleanser. In the morning, I just do a quick rinse with it like I previously described. At night, I first use it as a pre-cleanse to remove my makeup (I have never used anything that removes waterproof makeup so effortlessly). Then, I apply it to my Clarisonic and do a deeper clean with it. It does tend to make my Clarisonic brush a little grimey, so I wash off the brush afterwards with a regular soap. This is my new favorite cleanser and I highly recommend it!
Odacite – Synergie[4] Immediate Skin Perfecting Masque – $59
I’m a total mask fiend and I absolutely love trying out new ones. This mask comes in powder form and you have to mix it with water in a bowl before applying. These add-water masks aren’t my favorite since I always make a mess in my bathroom, but the results were good. It says that it is supposed to “reduce inflammation that can manifest as redness, dry patches, or acne”. It did refresh my pores and balanced my skin nicely. I didn’t find it to be a holy grail product, but maybe I just need to give it a few more tries!
One Love Organics – Gardenia & Green Tea Body Serum – $39
I’ve never been a big fan of body oils because I don’t like how it feels when you pour it into your hands in order to apply. This stuff has a cool spray applicator so your hands can stay grease-free! You still have to rub it in, but the formula is ultra-light and easily absorbed. It has a lovely floral scent which smells pleasantly perfumey.
Conscious Coconut – Organic Coconut Oil – $16
I have recently become completely obsessed with coconut oil. I’m planning to write a more in-depth post about my favorite uses for it soon, but to summarize, I use it for my skin, teeth, and hair extensions. This tube of coconut oil is SO convenient. I’m flying tomorrow and was annoyed to have to pack some messy coconut oil into a little travel jar. Then I realized that this tube is the perfect size to travel with. Thank goodness! No more unsanitary scooping out of the jar with my fingers, either!
