Review of NYX Liquid Suede Metallic Matte Lipsticks

The NYX Liquid Suede lipsticks have always been one of my favorite cruelty-free liquid lipsticks, so I was super excited when they sent me their brand new Metallic Matte collection. I’ve been playing around with them for the last week or so and I’m honestly really impressed. Other metallic liquid lipsticks that I have tried have not been completely transfer-proof, but these babies definitely are! If you have dry lips and find it uncomfortable when liquid lippies fully dry down, unfortunately, you may not like this formula. However, I really love it! This is the longest-wearing metallic formula that I have ever tried.

Now let’s talk shade range! Every single one of them is super rich and opaque. I feel like the color selection has something for everyone. For those who like dark and edgy, Go Rogue and Neat Nude are deep and sultry. Go Rogue is a stunning gunmetal shade and Neat Nude is a cool-toned dark brown. If you like bold, bright, and whimsical (that’d be me), Ego, Buzzkill, and Exposed are awesome. Ego is an absolutely gorgeous bright purple, Buzzkill is fuchsia, and Exposed is a blinding rose gold. Exposed really stood out to me because I’ve never seen a shade quite like it before. If you prefer classic berry and red colors, Pure Society, Acme, Biker Babe, and Modern Maven are good choices. Pure Society is a pretty plum, Acme is a strawberry red, Biker Babe is a burgundy, and Modern Maven is a dark mauve. For those who like nudes and browns, you’re in luck because you have three colors right up your alley! Mauve Mist is warm rosy bronze, Bella is a gorgeous rosy copper, and New Era is a warm brown.

Metallic Matte Lipsticks

Ego is seriously so fun. Above, I layered it with Furless Cosmetics loose pigment in Immoral on top for added shimmer. The white outline is Urban Decay Razor Sharp Liquid Eyeliner in Bump.

For this look below, I used Bella on my lips and New Era as my eyeliner. I’d never done a bronze smokey eye before and I love how it really brought out my blue eyes! Bella is definitely one of my very favorites from this collection.
