I’m obsessed with eyeliner. A perfect black wing has been the signature makeup look of my 20s, and I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon. I really ask a lot of my liquid eyeliner – I have hooded and oily lids, watery eyes, and I often need it to survive my sweaty workouts. Needless to say, I need my eyeliner to be an extremely waterproof formula. This is not easy to find, especially among cruelty-free brands. I have experimented with a vast list of water-resistant and waterproof eyeliners, and all of them have disappointed me. I have tried Stila Stay All Day Eyeliner, Tarte Clay Pot Waterproof Eyeliner, Tarte Clay Paint Liner, Too Faced Sketch Pen, Eyeko Eye Do, Wet N Wild H2O Proof Liquid Eyeliner, NYX Epic Black Mousse Liner, Physician’s Formula Sexy Booster Cat Eye Collection Eyeliner, Kat Von D Tattoo Liner, Milani Eye Tech Liquid Liner, Urban Decay Super-Saturated Ultra Intense Waterproof Cream Eyeliner, Urban Decay Razor Sharp Water-Resistant Longwear Liquid Eyeliner, Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner, and Smashbox Jet Set Waterproof Eyeliner (Bobbi Brown and Smashbox do test on animals, but I tried them years ago when I was not yet using only cruelty-free products).
Throughout the past few years, I have spent endless hours researching waterproof liquid eyeliners and trying them out, yet I still continued to come up short. Then about a week ago, I was falling asleep in bed and was hit with a brainwave. If liquid lipstick stays on your lips all day through talking, drinking, and eating, wouldn’t it potentially hold up just as well on my eyes? I googled to see if anyone had tried doing this before. Lo and behold, I found that some beauty bloggers had actually used Jeffree Star Lip Velours as eye makeup. Jeffree Star even states on his website that his liquid lipsticks are eye-safe! I immediately ordered the Jeffree Star Lip Velour in “Weirdo” (black).
How To Use Liquid Lipsticks as Eyeliner
When I received it in the mail, I put it on right away. To apply it, I used a tiny pointed eyeliner brush to swipe a little product off of the lipstick’s doe foot applicator. I was immediately impressed with how smoothly and opaquely it applied to my lash line. It was very easy to work with and dried quickly. I decided to give it my full test by wearing it for the whole day, including to a sweaty yoga class. When I got home after yoga, I looked in the mirror and was shocked to see that my winged liner still looked perfect! I knew right then and there that I had FINALLY found my cruelty free eyeliner holy grail. I have spent years looking for a product that preforms like this one! I still can’t quite believe it; I’m so excited!

You are a GENIUS! Ok I need to do this as I always have my right eye water and it smears my eyeliner regardless (it’s also a somewhat Saggier eyelid too) if it’s waterproof or not!
Great post as always!!!

It always amazes me how a small change by adding a line here, a dash of color there can totally change a look. I think it is awesome. I for one love that a woman can change her appearance so easily depending on the situation. I will always love that. Keep on amazing me ladies. ?????.
