Happy Valentine’s Day, loves! For my V-Day outfit, I wanted to wear something sweet and romantic while not falling into that easy rut of just wearing pink or red. My dress is by an Italian brand called Rindscimento, my shoes are custom Louboutins, my sunglasses are Sunglass Stop Shop, my necklace is Madeline’s Locker, and my lipstick is Colour Pop.

Since a lot of you guys are interested in my hair, I wanted to post my updated hair care regimen. Most of you already know that my hair care is pretty intense haha! I wrote about it a while ago here but I’ve recently changed a lot of my habits.
1. Start at the salon
This part is similar to my old post. I still have my same hairdresser who takes care of all of the difficult part of dying my hair so I can just maintain at home. However, instead of bleaching all the way up to my roots every 6 weeks, we are doing a balayage with foils. We are doing this for two reasons: first, I can grow in several inches of my natural base and just feather the pink up into it with highlights. This will help my hair be much healthier. Second, now I only have to go to the salon every 9 weeks so it is saving me a lot of money! I miss my flawless and rootless pastel hair a bit but this change is worth it in order to have fuller, healthier hair again.
2. Washing is overrated
I have completely changed what I do for my hair at home. Last post I talked about how I rinse my hair with pink-tinted conditioner every day because of my workout routine, but I don’t do this anymore. I found out that hair is extremely fragile when it is wet, so I now wash it as little as possible. I usually go 4-5 days without rinsing. When I do rinse, I still use my same pink conditioner recipe and routine that I discussed in my previous post, except my new conditioner of choice is this one. I am obsessed with it and it has made such a difference in the health of my hair.
I also still do more thorough color touch-ups as needed (but I need to do them even less frequently now). For these touch-ups I still use my pink conditioner as a mask for around 45 minutes.
3. Braids are my new BFF
When I cut my hair into a lob because of major breakage, the number one culprit for the damage was wearing a ponytail. I have learned that though my hair is not actually damaged, it is very fragile and can break easily. When I would wear a ponytail, hair would break off wear the hair tie rubbed. I cannot wear ponytails anymore, but braids are a gentle and easy alternative.
4. Beauty rest
This is a measure I just started taking within the last week and it has made such a difference. I have begun sleeping with my hair wrapped in a satin scarf (I use this one) which prevents breakage from rubbing on my pillow. This may sound like a trivial step but it has already made such a big difference. If you roll around at night a lot like I do, your hair is rubbing constantly on your pillows. This can create quite a lot of breakage, especially if your hair is already fragile from coloring. If your hair tends to get frizzy around the crown of your head, this may very well be from breakage while sleeping. If wearing a scarf to bed is a huge turn-off to you, something else you might want to try instead is a satin or silk pillowcase. Satin pillowcases are cheaper but some people find them hot to sleep on, whereas silk is more expensive but very comfortable. I haven’t tried this yet but I just got the satin one I linked to and am excited to try it! You can use them with or without the head scarf in order to protect your hair. I highly suggest protecting your hair with a satin scarf or pillowcase while you catch your Z’s!
