Today I’m stealing a blog idea from my sweet friend Dana over at Wonder Forest. The idea is sharing a few things that I CANNOT DO. Social media allows us to create a facade that we live perfect lives and are good at everything. Of course this is not true of anyone, regardless of how perfect their photos may appear! So here is a list of 5 things that I really can’t do.
1. I can’t sleep without the help of medicine.
I have struggled with insomnia since I was 14 or 15. For a couple years during high school I was only able to get around 4 hours of sleep a night, but luckily I was able to find a really great sleep aid medication when I was around 16, and now I sleep fairly well most of the time. But to that day, I completely rely on this medicine to sleep a wink!
2. I can’t do math.
I am so horrible at math. The highest level I took was Algebra 2 in 10th or 11th grade, and I barely passed with a C- or D. I did equally poorly in Geometry the year before too. My math teacher was one of the cruelest people I have ever known in my life (I still have nightmares about him), so I’m sure that was a contributing factor.
3. I can’t cope with authority figures.
Ever since high school, I’ve been really bad being respectful towards not-so-nice authority figures in my life. It started with that awful math teacher, and then continued on to crappy bosses I have had over the years. I have quit so many jobs over the years because I just could not get along with my boss. I absolutely HATE being ordered around or treated in a condescending manner! This is partly why I run my own business now.
4. I can’t play sports.
I am super uncoordinated and I think that’s why I suck at sports. Soccer, basketball, baseball, you name it! I was always picked last for teams in gym class. I am quite athletic, but whenever there is a ball or team involved, it’s no bueno for me.
5. I can’t keep a beat.
Speaking of being uncoordinated, I think this is partly why I simply cannot keep a rythym. As in, I can’t even clap along to a song, much less dance. It’s really not pretty.
What is something that you can’t do?
