Glam Mermaid Bride!

  Hi lovelies! Today was so much fun.  I had my wedding hair and makeup trial with the amazingly talented Alicia Wheeler.  It was fabulous to get all glammed up and figure out all the little details of how I want to look on my big day. First, let me start by saying that I am really OCD when it comes to my hair, makeup, and nails.  Whenever I am getting any of them done professionally, I have to decide whether I will keep my mouth shut about details that are bothering me and be miserable, or be honest about things that I would like changed/fixed.  It often doesn’t go over well when I mention changes I would like, even though I am always super nice about it! The reason that I bring this up is that Alicia is the only hair and makeup artist I have ever met who is as detail-oriented and perfectionistic as I am.  She wanted me to tell her everything I liked and didn’t like, so I felt completely at ease giving her the feedback I often feel like I need to keep pent up inside. The hair that I decided to go for is loose, romantic curls which will be accented with a small jeweled headband.  The makeup features soft brown matte eyeshadow with dramatic black winged eyeliner (we will go a little smaller with the wing on my wedding day) and fluffy, feminine lashes.  We used subtle contouring and highlighting on my cheeks and nose.  My lip color is a pretty muted mauve.  I felt like a glamorous mermaid bride!

PS – Did you notice in almost every photo, Penelope is staring up at me, awaiting direction? I love how this little wild child has learned to look to me for reassurance whenever she is unsure of herself.
