Hi lovely readers.
I have had a lot of time to reflect during this first week or so of being married. It is a really wonderful feeling being so close and committed to my new hubby. Though we have been together for almost 7 years and engaged for 3 of those years, it just feels right to finally be calling Brian my husband.
It was bittersweet spending such a brief weekend with my friends and family who flew in for the wedding. I had such an amazing time with them, but it was over so quickly. I love all my new friends here in LA, but it made me realize how much I miss my loved ones back home. I didn’t realize how stressed and overburdened I was by the wedding until my mom and best friend Teresa arrived and gradually the two of them lifted all of the weight off of my shoulders. The weight that I hadn’t even realized was there. This made me realize how independent I have learned to be since moving here, which is awesome, but there is nothing quite like being around the special people who know what you need before you even know it. You will only ever have a few people in life who truly, legitimately understand you better than you understand yourself. These are the people who have seen you at your very worst and your very best. When you are at your best, they share in your joy, and when you are at your worst, they simply raise you back up. Hold tightly to these precious few and never forget to appreciate them.
xoxo
Emily
