Hi everyone! Today Penelope and I are featuring amazing designs by Arm The Animals. I am in love with my tank top. It says “RESCUE RESPECT REPEAT”. It’s like they read my mind and put my ethos on an adorable shirt.
ATA recently told me that they would like to collaborate and naturally I was super excited to team up. They are a non-profit organization who donates all proceeds to small, struggling animal shelters. We share the same goal: doing everything in our power to help innocent discarded animals. Did you know that every year between 4 and 5 million pets are euthanized because people fail to spay, neuter, and provide other basic care? It is absolutely staggering.
What can I do to help, you ask? First of all, always spay and neuter–without exception. Every pet pregnancy adds to the current overpopulation of animals that need to be homed. Second, always adopt if you can. Every time you purchase a puppy or kitten, you are taking that “spot” in your home away from a homeless animal who may die instead. However, if you must purchase a puppy, please be sure to do so from a reputable breeder rather than a pet store. Pet stores receive their puppies from puppy mills. Puppy mill breeders abuse their dogs, overbreed them, and keep them in horrendous and unsanitary conditions. In fact, Penelope was a breeding bitch at a mill. Though I have rehabilitated her extensively, she will have lasting emotional and physical damage for the rest of her life. Lastly, consider donating either time or money to the animals shelters that so desperately need our support!
Together we can make a difference.
xoxo
