Hi everyone! I wore this look the other day to the Grove for lunch with my friend Megan from New Girl Old Ways. We had a lovely time. After we ate at Nordstrom, we stopped by our favorite store: Anthropologie. That’s where my dress is from, actually. I just love the adorable dog print! My watch is vintage Gucci.
Not many of you may know, but my profession is in graphic design. Yes I do photography and of course I blog, but graphic design is what my degree is in and it is at the core of the business that I run. The facet of design that I am most passionate about is actually invitations and stationery. Before I moved to LA, I did this full time in Philadelphia and was extremely successful. Unfortunately, when I got to LA, my business did not transfer here as smoothly as I had hoped. Since it is a much bigger city, there is so much more competition. My main goal in the next couple of years is to figure out how to tap into the market here, and grow my invitation and stationery business back to what it was in Philadelphia.
As you can imagine, I went above and beyond with my wedding stationery! I started out by sending special cards requesting for two of my best friends to be my co-maids of honor. Each card was presented inside a gold polka dot box along with a Kate Spade maid of honor bangle bracelet. This creation is where I first introduced my wedding colors of mint, gold, and ivory.
Next came our save the date cards. The illustrated portion is a magnet which was presented on a piece of patterned mint and gold card stock. This was held to the information card with gold-flecked twine, and everything went in a gold-lined mint envelope!
Last came the invitations. They feature silhouettes of Wendell and Penelope at the top. The design is letterpress on ultra-thick card stock. I included unique wood grain envelopes and stamps with our save the date illustration as a fun finishing touch.
What do you all think of my designs? I am so happy with how they came out.
